Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I'll be posting the logs soon.
The most telling one:

1) Norm attempts to log on from his DSL account (this was when he was getting the forumsDown page) at 7:30 am (CST); he had been trying for a few days
2) 45 minutes later Stryfe logs on from the dial-up account
3) Stryfe posts #65114: [link|/forums/render/content/show?contentid=65114|Hey Norm/Orion/Cable]
4) 5 minutes later Norm tries logging on 10 more times over about 15 minutes
5) At some point during #4 time Norm posts on Kuro5hin about the forums being down: [link|http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2002/11/26/92313/573|http://www.kuro5hin....2/11/26/92313/573]

My interpretation:

After several attempts Norm began to wonder about his inability to log in, tried his dial-up account with Stryfe and succeeded, then tried his DSL account again multiple times in frustration. Usually he is somewhat careful not to mingle the two (other than the blatantly obvious back-and-forth between himselves at 2:30am: [link|/forums/render/content/show?contentid=64686|Oh yes I can!]); this time I think he erroneously believed that the logs wouldn't show the commingling since he was getting the forumsDown page.

New If Norm said something about
being able to login from dialup, or under different name, it would have been more obvious. As it stands... This particular incident would not be enough for me to conclude that Stryfe and Orion are one and the same. DSL provider and dial-up provider are the same, I take? Has Norm ever posted from dialup as Orion? How blatantly obvious was the other incident?

I am playing Devil's advocate here. Let's see if other explanations are possible...

I did a Google search on Stryfe...

Here is the [link|http://profiles.yahoo.com/istryfe|Yahoo profile] Norm came up with. Note that "Last Updated" date is August 2000. Did Norm create this thing so far in advance?

Here is a home page of Stryfe, the Chaos Bringer, [link|http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Cavern/9664/| an X-Man character] (I seem to recall that Norm is partial to comics, can't provide any data).

The only [link|http://www.netherworld.com/~mgabrys/clock/current.html|link] where iStryfe appears on Google (search for it). Could someone explain what they are trying to say? Note the date - a year before Last Updated on Yahoo.

New As I said, it's a pattern of abuse.

The other main incident was pretty much the same, as you can see from the link, except that Norm and Norm argued back and forth a number of times before he left. Other incidents involve the exact same posting style, names from comic books or from Norm's past (with the exception of the [link|/forums/render/user?username=jledbetter|jledbetter] account, that I know of), and IPs all from St. Louis. [link|/forums/render/user?username=Scott+Hacker|Scott Hacker] uses the same IP range as [link|/forums/render/user?username=HMinstermann|HMinstermann], and [link|/forums/render/user?username=jledbetter|jledbetter] uses the same dial-up ISP as [link|/forums/render/user?username=Stryfe|Stryfe].

I am playing Devil's advocate here. Let's see if other explanations are possible...
Other explanations are possible, although not probable. Occam's Razor suggests that Norm is trolling, not that there is a world-wide cabal of stalkers hell-bent on terrorizing him. Norm has a history of chatting back and forth to himself as well; cf. his Orion Blastar and cable4096 accounts on K5. He also likes to moderate himself up with his various accounts on K5 as well. There were also a couple of similar accounts created in the [link|http://twiki.iwethey.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/|TWikIWETHEY] system (one of which was named Andy Kaufmann IIRC; Kaufmann is a [link|http://pub75.ezboard.com/fantiiwetheyfrm16.showMessage?topicID=1.topic|favorite] of Norm's.

Here is the [link|http://profiles.yahoo.com/istryfe|Yahoo profile] Norm came up with. Note that "Last Updated" date is August 2000. Did Norm create this thing so far in advance?
There were a number of drive-bys at ezIWETHEY by Stryfes. One of whom posted from Thailand (where Norm's wife's family is from, I believe). All of them were from St. Louis. All of them used the same posting style (Norm's) and all of them had comic-book names (from the X-Men) or variations upon Norm's aliases.

Here is a home page of Stryfe, the Chaos Bringer, [link|http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Cavern/9664/| an X-Man character] (I seem to recall that Norm is partial to comics, can't provide any data).
See above. Cable/Stryfe/Orion are all from comics that he reads.

The only [link|http://www.netherworld.com/~mgabrys/clock/current.html|link] where iStryfe appears on Google (search for it). Could someone explain what they are trying to say? Note the date - a year before Last Updated on Yahoo.
I would guess that Norm has been drive-by trolling many groups. His modus operandi doesn't seem to change much.

I do think he has been harassed in the past by some of the Mac groups. There was one very credible visitation by such on ezIWETHEY. However, I was able to contact them via email; the situation was resolved. I think the harassment gave him the idea from which this current fantasy has sprouted.

This is pure [link|http://pub23.ezboard.com/fgforceandwhitecapfrm1.showMessage?topicID=313.topic|insanity] (and it sounds like Norm, too).
There seems to be Merril Stryfe who enjoys Conter Strike game.

A piece of X-Man lore from [link|http://tgs.gargoyles-fans.org/cr/archive/2001/10-20-2001.html|here]:

(and if you want to continue with Cable's storyline, you have to mention Cable's clone, Stryfe, who was Cable from an alternate reality; naturally, being a clone, he was evil. He also died and came back to life a dozen times or so. And, also, Cable had a son, Tyler, who eventually went crazy, dressed himself up in a costume and called himself Genesis, and tried to steal all of Apocalypse's power [get it? Apocalypse? Genesis? First and last books of the Bible?] before getting killed.).

There are around 150 links, I tried to filter them somewhat. Not quite sure what it means.

New Norm's age in 2000 was 32, matching Yahoo profile.
and the X-Man character "dealer of deceit, lord of lies, king of confusion, and master of mayhem!" Why it's the King, himself! :)

Incidentally, all this discussion brings him much joy! It does not matter what is said as long as he is the topic. Hint, hint!

New Therefore, this post left blank.
But then, Norm - you didn't see an NT and so you will Have to look inside, no?

Look, Norm - you've gotten more attention than most 17 yos strung out on crack and stealing $$ from mother's purse while hot-wiring the family car for a drug run. Right?

Why not just voluntarily.. remain silent. For no less than a week; two if you can manage. Just forget all recent postings and their responses. They just don't matter, can you dig it? This will be SHOCKING behaviour (whereas all the other has been, well - predictable behaviour, y'know?) Don't even COME HERE to read! You'll lose focus on your next Scene.

Hey.. console yourself in the silence! Wonder.. what They are Wondering? Do they think I used the Gatling Gun? Scopolamine hydrobromide in the soup?
__?--?__.
Hey.. Enjoy! the Suspense. You'll LOve it.

Make your next post a rational one; work on it, polish it - plagiarize from somewhere (your sense of humor is, ummm shall we say - a bit lacking generally? So use someone else's).

It's a Game. It's All a Game. Read some Shakespeare meanwhile.. for further proof: It's A Game! (Stay away from the tragedies; I suggest, [link|http://movie-reviews.colossus.net/movies/m/much_ado.html| Much Ado About Nothing]). Since you don't read a lot besides VB manuals - rent the video.

It's priceless and you Need some Perspective on life and its vicissitudes: you are hung-up on Me-Me-Me and that is a really boring suject for.. the better parts of your wounded psyche. (You know this - cut the internal BS for ten seconds. You aren't stupid - just wallowing in self-pity is all)

We all love ya, but we wish for a better grade of entertainment next - you can understand that, now can't you? OK no more hints for now,

New I don't want the frelling attention!
I just want to be treated like a decent human being with the same rights as the rest of you! Is that so hard to figure out? Can't you guys stop messing with me for a week or two? I have cut back on my posting here, took a vacation, and yet the Orion-Bashing continues! Amazing! Don't you people have anything else to talk about besides me and what I might have done but you have no hard evidence to prove it?
