New Here's where to look 'em all up
[link|http://world.guns.ru/main-e.htm|world.guns.ru]

And since you're considering shotguns for home defence, perhaps the [link|http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/sh08-e.htm|Neostead] is one you should look into.

HTH!

[Edit:] And for when you really need some punch, forget the puny [link|http://www.hqmc.usmc.mil/factfile.nsf/7e931335d515626a8525628100676e0c/9867a7c6f72a0ad08525627c006cb4ef?OpenDocument|MK19 40mm] some wimp linked to -- go with the [link|http://world.guns.ru/machine/minigun-e.htm|GAU-8/A][*] in stead! ;^)

New Yeah, I'm familiar with the GAU-8/A
I'm a big fan of the A-10.
The universe makes no sense until you accept that God uses base 13.

Even then, it's still pretty dodgy.
New Not at all
Note that the GAU-8/A is on chambered up to 30mm. The MK19 is 40mm.

Second, the GAU-8/A is long-barrelled, and works via high repeating rate and high muzzle velocity. IOW it's for armored targets. The MK19 has a much shorter barrel, allowing high-explosive and gas rounds. We were talking mob defense, weren't we?

Third, the MK19 can employ indirect fire. So you can lob rounds over the defenses rather than rely on demolishing them.

Fourth, the MK19 is man-portable. The GAU-8/A needs to be mounted to a sturdy frame.
===

Implicitly condoning stupidity since 2001.
