Madison Avenue

Sees a competitive aspect, at least. Women are more likely have thier attention drawn by a beautiful woman than a handsome man. That's why ads targeting females don't have frumpy women in them.

It's not to attract a man. Men will be attracted anyway. It's to compete with other women.

Personally, I'd think jello wrestling would be a more effective form of competition, but hey, that's just me.
