IBM's PC business was rumored to be losing a billion dollars a year before it was sold to Lenovo. HP's PC business struggled for years after it was merged with Compaq. Dell's stock is dropping, sales are off, and it's been having problems with [link|http://www.marketwatch.com/News/Story/dell-postpones-third-quarter-results-sec/story.aspx?guid=%7BF39BA31B%2D88C9%2D4902%2DA1AE%2D7A776BEBC01A%7D|timely reports to the SEC].
I wouldn't be at all surprised if one or more of them (the PC arms anyway) disappeared in the next 5 years.
