And he's got his head so far up his own arse that he's seeing daylight, too.

New Maybe
But I love Blackmore's Night

New OH, I get it.
All artists must conform to Peter Whysall's own version of Political Correctness, or everything they do, have ever done, or will possibly do in the future is cack.

10-4, Elenore!

"So don't pay attention to the approval ratings that say 68% of Americans disapprove of the job this man is doing. I ask you this, does that not also logically mean that 68% approve of the job he's not doing? Think about it. I haven't."
Stephen Colbert, at the White House Correspondent's Dinner 29Apr06
New . <-- The point You --> .o/
That's you, foaming away, having missed the point.

RB is an amazing guitarist. He's also a totally self-obsessed wanker, which is why he got booted from band after band. He's also prone to talking bollocks.

That's probably because he's an amazing guitarist.

The Dixie Chicks are a mainstream pap band, who are perfectly competent at what they do. They're far from competent at politics, but because they have a platform they insist on wibbling on about things they'd be better off keeping schtum about.

THAT was my point. I couldn't care less about the audible output of either the Dixie Chicks or Ritchie Blackmore.

New Not the point
Taste is inarguable, but you can't call them crummy; they are good at what they do. There is a craft as well as art to music, and the craft is something that can be argued about. By any view of the craft of playing music, they do it well.

If you can't see that distinction, you're seeing daylight too.

New I can too call it crummy music
"Crummy music" == music I do not like to listen to. The phrase is inherently subjective, and as such you can't tell me what I can call crummy.

-scott anderson

New Not in common usage up here
when you say crummy, you definitely cast aspersions on competence.

Here's an example; have you ever heard of a crummy programmer? Why were they crummy? Was it a question of taste? Or competence?
