Violent protests, riots, looting, terrorism, bombs, arson, kidnapping, assassinations, you name it. The Woodstock "festival" in 1969 in some ways culminated the 60's. It was about 66 miles from where I worked in Kingston, NY. When I left work for home on the Friday the concerts started, the roads in that direction were a parking lot. Fortunately, I was heading the other way. I had no idea of what was happening until I got home and my wife told me. Interesting times.
