A full-blown language has more potential for bugs because you have a more complex protocol to have to get right and keep upgrading, and more combinations that can do unpredictable things.
Once again, my DOM/JS library runs unchanged on 4 different browsers. No updates necessary. No complexity at all (one line to include the library at the top of the HTML page). And it is delivered and running. And it took a few days to write.
Where is the complexity? You're fighting a straw man.
