downloaded cygwin-lite that gives you bash ls rm and a few others. rm doesnt do the trick but ls -ail | cat -vet gives me -rwxr-xr-x admin admin and 'com1 ' so there is a trailing space on the file however explorer is convinced that com1 is a directory. ls -l on the tree structure puts a drwxr-xr-x so it is a file. Running chkdsk in readonly mode, see what it thinks.
