I always just set the first character of whatever file or directory I want gone to E5 Hex, then run ScanDisk to recover the space. I know recent versions of Windows try to protect the filesystem from this sort of direct manipulation. Getting rid of Com1 any other way would be a bitch, since it's the name of a built in device driver. [link\|http://www.aaxnet.com\|AAx]
