Until then, it is hand waving on both sides, and hand waving doesn't change the status-quo.

It's better that the changes be based on the best numbers we can get, rather than just heat of the moment emotion. I think we agree on that. This weapon buying spree is going to be stashed by many for (hopefully unnecessary?) use later. Obama is the best gun salesman in America right now. Decent shape but at $1200 way over priced (for me) years ago I had a fondness for the old Chuck Connors "rifleman" show and bought a winchester lever action. About 1k rounds later I could get off shots as fast as him and was fairly accurate at short range with it. Saw a nice one for sale for $295. May consider it later in the year.
