Watching Brexit votes roll in.
Started off with the Leaves ahead, but has crossed back and forth 3 times so far.
Peter's neck of the woods - Redcar & Cleveland has Leaves at 66.2% vs Remains 33,8%. Must be the "industrial" part of the country.

It certainly doesn't look good at the moment.
But suppose "Leave" wins. What then?
I understand that 2 years of negotiations are needed to make it official.
I also understand that PM Cameron will likely resign or be forced out. Would it also mean early elections? Could a new government come in and ask for a do-over once the pound falls 20% tomorrow?
It seems like if a government is really determined, they can keep calling referendums until they get the result they want (look at Erdogan in Turkey).
Lots and lots of questions...
Here's hoping the "Stay" side rallies.
Cheers, Scott.

Shows you what the 28+% of non-voters allowed to happen.
The Leave voters were more fired up and did not let the heavy rains keep them home.

This isn't Rubio declaring he's done with the Senate.
Politics is a serious thing.
Cameron will resign.
Economic recession will come.
Scotland overwhelmingly in the Remain block, will revisit independence.
Northern Ireland, also the Remain block, will look at re-unification with Ireland.
But, there's always Wales.
And Peter will be able to say "I told you so!"

NPR this morning.
Interviewed (didn't catch names or titles) an IN and an OUT supporter. The only thing they agreed on was this was a sort of "peasants revolt" at globalization akin to the draw shared among Trump and Bernie supporters here. I don't know if that's overstating it or not because I'm not up to date on the political environment in the UK. But if that's truly what it was, then this could be the first shot across the bow of the Free-Trade Globalization junket. Could Trump's election be the next?

But, this morning Bernie said he would vote for Hillary in November. Anything to stop Trump.

Keep the government's hand off our EU subsidies!
Also, some git in the comments section suggests that we enroll Old Blighty in NAFTA. I say, go for outright annexation and call it "Airstrip One."

My daughter and granddaughter are touring the UK in a couple weeks.
It's a Jr. High band trip.
Unfortunately, my daughter converted some dollars to pounds with a friend who came back from the UK with excess currency. She thought she was saving on exchange fees! Whoops!
