I think Puritans is as good an answer overall. Have whatever values you have. That's what America is for. You don't need George Bush for that.

According to a book I read about common historical misunderstandings, the Pilgrim sect started arriving a decade after the Mayflower landed. The original group were actually English Separatist Puritans.
