New Hear ye, hear ye??
My wife and I were fifth in line waiting for the polls to open, and what I heard was
Biddy1: "Dammit, my watch IS correct and we don't start for another 5 minutes"
Biddy2: "Well, it's raining and the line's out the door. I say my watch is correct and let's start now."
I think they split the difference and started a couple minutes after that without any particular ceremony.
The parking lot was packed at 6:15.

New My site was under the control of a WWII vet
He stared at his watch for the 10 minutes or so I was there, never saying a word till 6:00 exactly. Made his announcement then pulled a towel out of a pouch on his wheelchair and finally wiped the rain off his face.
