New Can we auto-add The Sign whenever Ben's reading?
Ben, I was in the military for eight years. I know what billeting is.

BTW In the U.S. the term is "foreign[1] exchange program". Those who participate are "exchange students".

[1] No one bothers to do an exchange somewhere else in the same country.

Implicitly condoning stupidity since 2001.
New I didn't know if the word was used in the US military
I was shocked to find that it wasn't in general usage in the USA.

Incidentally your translation is wrong, most of the time when I billeted it was for smaller outings like like highschool choir trips. A couple of cities over does not a foreign exchange make.

As for why Canada bothered to do exchanges within the country, it was intended as a way to defuse English-French tensions. I don't know whether they still are doing it though.

Cheers,
Ben
To deny the indirect purchaser, who in this case is the ultimate purchaser, the right to seek relief from unlawful conduct, would essentially remove the word consumer from the Consumer Protection Act

New They are
and, it's not just the state that's doing it. I came across it as part of a series of model parliaments organised by the United Church of Canada that I attended while in high school.

Example chants:

Yes yes yes we do, we've got spirit how 'bout you?

which, of course, became

Yes yes yes we do, we drink spirits how 'bout you?

There were numerous other bastardisations that I and my fellow travellers in the corrupt teenage practices of sex and drugs and rock and roll came up with...
