And I've been over this before; my apologies to those of you who have read this explanation previously.
The authentication method used here is a plug-in for Zope: not written by me, and not maintained by me. Rewriting it to do the sorts of things you want it to do is certainly within my abilities, but the project is non-trivial and therefore unlikely to get done within my current time constraints. There are a lot of similar projects here that could be done in the same time frame, but are also not likely to get done for the same reason.
