IMhO, the above events are reducible (as easily as your reductionism of all things 'Environmental') to:

"this bird - whatever the quality of its daily life for FIVE years since it was injured and left to die by the side of the road - is better off dead, Immediately because 'It's [my personal interpretation that it is] The Law\ufffd'"

And in fact, that ISN'T the law - F&G officers *have discretion* - it was this *individual's* premeditated 'decision' -- "to make an example" = close eyes and ears to any investigation of the actual circumstances and the "quality of life" of this animal he was allegedy "protecting from abuse!". Death == Protection is NOT contained in That Law.

This event/case is far from over / ready for the truss-ad section - and not merely "locally", from what I have heard directly from some involved parties.
