When Abbie Hoffman was hauled in front of the HUAC committee he was wearing a shirt with the flag on it and got cited for contempt of congress as well as flag desecration. thanx, bill My Dreams arn't as empty as my concience seems to be

And I remember all the right-wingers from Orange County (CA) ranting and raving about the hippies using the flag whenever they could - on their heads, as patches over jeans that were more patch than denims, t-shirts, etc. Thanks for reminding me. bcnu, Mikem
