My guess is that this implies that there are other women working for Uncle Sam in SA that don't face this restriction and she wants parity with them. Thats my read on it.

She may have a point if other federal employees who are women are not forced to do it. But then as was said, they risk being attacked by the locals. Oh they must really enjoy "Baywatch" over in the middle-east, eh? ;)

Asking its forces to behave as if in the Middle Ages? Is that what this Consumerhood ^h^h country is 'about' ? One usually chooses to honor the customs of a country you are visiting voluntarily.. unless they are odious: then you take your chances by confronting these / or you leave.
