Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Am reminded of Mark Twain.
I imagine the Left looked pretty insignificant to the Germans in in late 1930's as well.

But if you're only talking about the Americans that "matter", you know, the 40% or so who still vote for one of the two same parties, then I guess that left doesn't matter anymore.

To the other 60% of the populace, it's still very much alive.

GODWIN (before anyone else can do it),
Mikem
New Sorry, no Godwin
Intentional triggering doesn't end the thread.
"He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." - Friedrich Nietzsche
New Wrong reasoning....
Cause he didn't accuse anyone of being LIKE the nazis.

See, your reply, it was insane, just like Hitler.

(That's a Godwin). :)

Addison
New Depends on your definition.
I was using [link|http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/jargon/html/entry/Godwin's-Law.html|this] one.

"As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one." There is a tradition in many groups that, once this occurs, that thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's Law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups. However there is also a widely- recognized codicil that any intentional triggering of Godwin's Law in order to invoke its thread-ending effects will be unsuccessful.

Yeah, it can be read both ways...
"He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." - Friedrich Nietzsche
New WAY OT: Addison
