is here to stay. Somebody has to create those elements that end users will snap together. In addition, most people have hard time thinking in terms of nested data and control structures. End users work best when you can show them a picture or a linear narrative. Start using loops, nested ifs, 5 levels of tables - you get blank stares. And those things are needed to accomplish many tasks that computers are used for.
In general, we will need fewer and fewer programmers, but those we need will have to be better and better. At some point it will place me out of the game, obviously. Hopefully, by then I'll be ready to retire :) .
