At work I am stuck with only AIM...and that was a struggle now that we're in our newfangled, hyperrestricted Win2k mode. Then, one day, I just got fed up with having every-freaking-IM-program installed on my machine. I broke down and tried it again to find that the interface was greatly improved, and much more usable.
