New Context matters, too
Some people raise their dogs on purpose to be threatening. Was this one of those neighborhoods? Don't know, but there are places that if I saw a dog running at me my first thought wouldn't be "friendly puppy".


PS: That still doesn't mean you should start shooting as soon as you see a dog.
