Completely wrong.
Her elevation has come at the hands of NOT the conservative media..but the other side. Bring her in, let her spout, and spend the rest of the week focused on what she said..using it to try to bring out false issues with their Repo opponents. In the trenches of the R candidates, its a simple dismissal that is all that is necessary.
In the meantime, the liberal side of the aisle gets all worked up, scream and yell at her and lose focus on the real task in front of them...which is winning the election.
She's certainly an asset to the Republicans and they will NOT boycott her or shut her up.
What you are seeing in this past week of brouhaha over the faggot comment is a short version of "Why we lose elections" by the Democrats.
Must focus, Democratsan.

this time last cycle Howard Dean was way ahead and Kerry was trailing the pack.
We're still in pre-season - hard to say who will make the playoffs. I think freezing out Fox by declining to show up for their debate is smart.

But to "mainstream" conservatives, she means nothing and most will disavow her entirely. This is the same theory as those saying Jesse Jackson or L Farrakahn speak for the "african americans" when most want nothing to do with them and disagree with most of what they say. BUT...when TV wants to "get the view of black america"..those 2 get the majority of appearances. Funny how US media works, isn't it?

Nobody ever hears neocon spouting the 'gospel' of these 'heroes' right after a broadcast, and of course no neocon agrees with the crap their mouthpieces spew.

Fox versus MSNBC. How many times does coulter appear or get mentioned.
Bet if you count...MSNBC will win. Conjecture, sure...but as a guy who spends most of his day listening to the various TV news networks (home office noise)... lets just say its an edumacated guess.
The level of celebrity is by nature created by her opposition. Its not anyone's fault. It was her goal to get famous and the media is a damned effective tool for that. Say something completely outlandish and you are certain to get facetime. Only in America. Hell, I'm HAPPY she said something stupid cause I'm really f***ing tired of hearing about the multitudes claiming to be the father of Anna-Nicole's baby.
And every single Democrat has HAD to come out this week and talk about Ann. Moral imperative. Did I hear Ed K say ANYTHING constructive about reducing troop levels, fixing VA medical facilities, improving job roles?? No. But he DID rail against Ms Coulter. They've all had to get in their 2 cents. I've seen none comment on any of their actual opponents...but they've ALL had something to say about little orphan Annie.
They damned well better focus on the actual problems facing this country and quit worrying about whether AC thinks pretty boy is light in the loafers.

I'm not so sure they see that as their task. I'm unconvinced that the Dems want the White House next year. If they did, why would O'Bama and Hillary be getting all the money, spotlight, coverage, etc. Of the Dem flock, their best candidate and ONLY candidate who could win a general election is Edwards. And he has to fight to be noticed. If the Dems really wanted the White House, Edwards would be everyone's favorite. But, he's not. The conventional wisdom is that he is already an "also ran" that might get a second shot at playing second chair.
FWIW, here's one Democrat that won't vote for the Democratic candidate if either O'Bama or Hillary is the Democratic nominee. If either of them is the best they can do, then I fear the Delays, Roves, Armeys, et al. were right all along - the Democratic Party is irrelevant.

Alabama University was known to its fans as "Bama" (particularly those like me, who thought college football here was not worth watching after Paul "Bear" Bryant retired from Alabama). I'm reasonably certain that if, instead of pronouncing his last name Oh-bah-ma, it was pronounced Oh-bam-a ("bam" as in "Alabama") he would take offense. The apostrophe was my way of indicating how "bama" should be pronounced. I'll grant that even now as I explain it, there was very little in the way of humor about it.

I dont think much of any of the current repos. Called SC Senator Graham's office to see if he was going to run but they said he was gonna sit this one out. Edwards is the viable candidate with concrete plans.

definitely has issues in the upper ranks. (So does Republicans...how else would we get Dubya)
(I mean, look at Kerry. How the hell does he get the nod? Sigh. He still reminds me of Bob Dole.)
Clinton is a force in the party. Like her, hate her, there are a LOT of Democrats who respect her (and she does have control of a boatload of money).
But I think the traditional forces in the democrats are weakening. Dean shook things up a lot. Who knows what happens next?
