Snow in Michigan!
Grrrrrr.
Not enough to stick, but it was coming down pretty thick when I sent my son off to the bus this morning.
Too early for this! My flowers are still blooming!

Same in Illinois.
Accumulation expected to be an inch or less, and probably gone by tomorrow.

Sunny 70's here.
Which is weird - should be raining until July.

Front porch,
nice sun on back, tea, cat stretched out 2x-lifesize across the steps; The Chron - which predicts 80ish for the week. Back in now - warm enough, for the nonce.
Sorry..
But this Is aberrant for October, here in Cthulhu's Country too - why, a one would imagine that the climate is somehow ... Off? Naaaah - pay no heed to those Alarmists.

Clear and nice in North Ohio.
Upper 40's and sun shining through some clouds. I'm hoping it stays like this. This saturday is our annual clam bake. It's supposed to be like this (prime clam bake weather) but the weather nitwits (hey, it's a government job) can't tell what kind of weather they have at the moment. Looking out the window would be a breach of faith; they might get something right. Fingers crossed, we've been lucky 10 times out of the last 12. and the other 2 were not terrible. Good friends, good food, good drink, and a hot bon fire is hard to beat in any kind of weather.

Thanks, I thoughly propose to...
We are expecting about 45 +-, not including children and dogs. My wife and I are both off today to cook and prepare the cabin (on the Penn border, the regulars rent state cabins for the weekend.) People will start showing up around noon and I plan to start serving around 4 in the afternoon. The party generally folds up around 2 or 3 am. Cleanup sunday is over by noon at the latest normally. This is our once a year big party. Fun, but a lot or work.

Didn't think to, is all
This started out as an outing for a bunch of our friends and over the years the numbers grew as people brough other people. It didn't occur to me to invite the web contingent. It's a bit late this year, but next year, it will be the second saturday in october if you're interested. Anybody else feel like it? The more, the merrier!

Morraine Lake?
You haven't said much other than cabins on the lake in a state park on the border, but that sounds like where we've gone a couple of times.

Pymatuning. One side of the lake is OH, the other PA.
Closest town is Andover. It's a straight shot out Rt 6. There is a state park that straddles the allotment where we have our cabin.

We pass that on the way to Morraine
We always stop on the dam over Pymatuning to feed the fish.

But, both will be 10 degrees lower tomorrow.

Well it's 90F here already...
...Already being (a) October, and (b) not yet 10AM! We have unseasonal heat to match that unseasonal snow.
Today it's tipped to hit 100F in Western Sydney. It should be a balmy 91 - 96 where I am.

I used you last night with a science project
My son had to write a paper on why the earth has seasons. We got out an orange and a flash light, I'm showing him how the earth is tilted on it's axis, how the sun's rays hit the earth at different angles, etc. He was having a hard time grasping it. Then I said " So we're heading into winter right now and Uncle John down in Australia is just starting summer."
Ding ding ding. The light bulb went on. "Ohhhhh", he said, "NOW I get it!"
