Another idiot...or maybe 25.
[link|http://www.atwonline.com/news/story.html?storyID=6602|http://www.atwonline...html?storyID=6602] The EU Regulatory Committee on Aviation Security agreed on a range of new security measures to be introduced at all airports of the 25 member states.
The measures will limit the individual quantities of liquids allowed to be carried by passengers to 100 ml. per container, require that the number of containers fit in one transparent resealable plastic bag of a maximum size of 1 liter and state that passengers must present the plastic bag at security checkpoints.
EC Commissioner for Transport Jacques Barrot committed to submitting promptly "a proposal to the College [of Commissioners] to formally incorporate these rules into Community law. I expect this to be adopted in the course of the next week." The new rules should take effect in late November.

The last time I flew was in August
And it was the first time I ever checked my luggage(because of the restrictions on liquids). And what does the airline do? They LOSE MY SUITCASE! I stood there watching the bags go round and round on the baggage carousel and mine never showed up. And neither did the bags for half the passengers on the flight. There was a mighty long line at the baggage claim office with a lot of pissed off people. I had to hand it to the baggage claim staff. They calmly took the abuse from each and every passenger without reacting. They are victims of the insanity as well.

Submit to Mythbusters
I love that show. So perhaps they could bust the myth that a person can board an airplane with a some liquids and blow it out of the sky?

Great idea!
And since they are so fond of blowing up shit, they would go to it rather hard, I would think...
...until the TSA and the DHS (Department of "Homeland" Security) show up at their front doors, and "make" them bust it as a myth (under threat of being determined by the sole and unfailing judgement and authority of the pResident, as "emeny combatants"). Wouldn't want those Middle Eastern Jihadistas learning htat they actually could make it work, donchaknow.

I ask you this, does that not also logically mean that 68% approve of the job he's not doing? Think about it. I haven't." — Stephen Colbert, at the White House Correspondent's Dinner 29Apr06

They haven't made it work yet.
But not for [link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippine_Airlines_Flight_434|lack of trying]...with one dead passenger already to show for the attempt.
Poor bomb placement is likely all that saved flight 434.

We're doomed
Train a hamster to crawl into a vulnerable spot near control or fuel lines. Feed the hamster some liquids. Don't report the hamster missing once on board...

Theme for '06 Terrierism alert: al-Q and The Hamster Dance
Two days before Electionism might occur:
Wash DC, Office of the Advisor to the President, speaking from an undisclosed location:
US aircraft to be grounded immediately.
Your Fatherland Security Agency has discovered a plot whereby many psychologically-conditioned Aryans would be boarding aircraft all across Our Beloved Nation -- each carrying one or more rodents to be released surreptitiously, and at a strategic place in the aircraft.
The plot was then, to reveal that this sabotage had been accomplished, but by not divulging the exact flights -- forcing a massive disruption to our Beloved Nation via the grounding of all aircraft, for your comfort, convenience and safety.
Having uncovered this dastardly plot, and after strategic conference with Our President -- who exhibited his unique capacity for instantly deciding -- we have decided to ground all US aircraft, thus preempting this diabolical plan.
-- Somewhere under Washington DC, our Beloved Nation's capital.

It would seem, therefore, that the three human impulses embodied in religion are fear, conceit, and hatred. The purpose of religion, one might say, is to give an air of respectibility to these passions. -- Bertrand Russell
