"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from." -- E.L. Doctorow

You'll be sorry
I'll probably look an awful lot like that pic for the next few weeks. If I lose my hair, at least I have that wig. Which reminds me, if I do end up bald and am still that way in July, I expect each and every one of you to shave your head in support. And if you're already bald you can shave somewhere else.

cuddly, and this might be considered as maybe (just possibly) being in poor taste. OTOH, it might be good for a laugh, so wtf.
Does anyone else find it a little disquieting to see a bunch of guys talking about thinking good thoughts, pulling for her, and piling on to her to one of the very few women in this forum? I mean, I'm getting an image here....

Thanks
I celebrated yesterday, knowing today would be kind of a stinker. Spent most of the day meeting with doctors- oncologist, gynocologist, anesthesiologist, and folks at the cancer center. I am scheduled for surgery Wednesday and will be in the hosp for a few days. May or may not need radiation, depending on how surgery goes. Now I have to figure out what to do with my kids and my clients. That'll be tomorrow's job. I'm not going to let this thing take me down, goddamnit. Especially not on my birthday!
