Twee.
Hmm. How to define? It's one of those words that I intuitively know the meaning of, but for which have a great deal of difficulty articulating the emotional response it's meant to convey.
Twee. Twee, twee, twee.

My dad (a very devout man) always used to disapprove of stuff like this, because he said it gave people a sense of plastic spirituality; the kind that lasts for 20 minutes and then you're back to your normal, unspiritual self. Spirituality, he said, takes TIME to work with. Hours and days and weeks and years, and distilling it down into potted phrases just cheapens and devalues it. (On a similar note, he had a freezing disdain for new-agers, because he considered that they just cherry-picked all the interesting-looking bits from cultures around the world without understanding any of the context that, for example, Feng Shui works in. Can't say I disagree.)
