Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Pain, terrible pain...
Yes, I know the line was Yoda in AOTC....

But it's how I feel now so I used it.

You all know I've been really really depressed lately. I've been caught in the middle of this awful family battle and sometimes I feel so trapped and helpless and sad....

But I digress....

Today, ten days after I purchased Revenge Of The Sith on DVD, I FINALLY got to watch it. I was searching for that escape, I was searching for the 2 and a half hour joyride through space, that forget-the-rest-of-the-world syndrome that Star Wars always gives me, where I disappear into that land of fantasy space battles and good vs evil....

And for the first time ever, (having seen Sith three times at the theater), I cried. I not only cried, I anguished. I felt pain, terrible pain. I felt Anakin's struggle, I felt his pain, his frustration, his hurt, his anger... I felt it all and I was not uplifted to that place where Star Wars always takes me, has always taken me....

Instead I was dragged down into the painful hell that Anakin himself found himself trapped within... and I laid on the floor and cried and cried and cried.

For the first time ever, I relate. And now, even my movie, my escape, my hide from the world secret place... Star Wars.... can't help. :(

So much for plan B. :(

Now "Legends of the Fall"- there's a movie where everyone dies. Stay away from that one.

I'm confused. Which movie does everyone die in? I know they mostly die in ROTS, but are we talking about ROTS or Steel Magnolias?

Stuart Saves His Family

All of them are entertaining, some have wonderful messages, some are silly. They're all a change of pace from Star Wars.

Thanks, list is noted. :) We're not at a loss for funny comedies though, we have slews of them taped in the other room waited to be seen. We just never have a chance. Maybe we can get some watched in December when he goes on vacation.

It's really not Star Wars: ROTS's fault. It always did it before. The heart pounding excitement the space opera escape... I think it just can't today because I'm so sad I can't see beyond the tragedy that it truly is about.

I suspect if I tried to watch Titanic the same thing would happen, I would only see the dead people... not the heart of the film.

So it's obviously time to find a plan C. I wanted to see Valiant, but it went away from the theaters and doesn't come out till Dec. (sigh). But John's off tomorrow and maybe we can find something to do that works.

And I appreciate the reminder. At least though, mom and I are better. We're almost fixed. It's Katie and I who aren't. She wanted to talk to me yesterday at mom's house, and I didn't want to say no, then she starts screaming at me on the phone the minute I say something she doesn't like...

I didn't stop shaking for hours. I've had more panic attacks in the last few days than I've had for years. And I even almost beaned my car in the windshield with a huge railroad tie on my parent's driveway, because somehow the front tire hit the end of it (it lines the driveway) and it flipped straight up in the air in front of my car. Thank God it didn't hit me or the car, but talk about panic city after that.... sheesh. I had to calm down in order to drive home.

Then mom and dad had a car accident last night, so I was afraid it was all this stress. But dad insists it wasn't.
EDIT: At least no one was hurt, thank God, and no serious damages.

And then starting at 1:40 a.m. until 6:30 a.m., mom and I talked all night long, calmly, not fighting, but both of us near tears several times wishing we just knew what to do to fix this. But at least we're back on track with one another.

I was better a day ago, I was getting up at 9:30 a.m. again for the first time in months... I had a little spring in my step, I was singing to the birdie..

I just have to find that part of me again.

Hang in there. Make time for yourself and enjoy yourself for a change. :-)

Thanks, I'll try again. I honestly thought seeing my DVD would do it, but obviously it can't right now.

New The LRPD chimes in with some advice for the next
smarmy one demanding Your time (and that you Listen to Their indignation) -

I don't have to take this abuse from you, I've got hundreds of people dying to abuse me.

You need a stock of 'terminal' one-liners.. then the moxie to Hang Up. 3 of those in a row and they'll get the message even through their rilly-Dim jelloware -

Nobody fucks with Paul Lazzarro Owlet!

(And if you never saw Slaughterhouse Five, you're a retard -- Rent It and try to see [really See] a different angle on all this BS about 'time'; forget what you thought you knew about that -- this will also help in your imagination that you Must Schedule Things... and for Everybody.)

Imagining that Time must be accounted for and fit schedules (especially the schedules of Others), along with the idea that the Value (!) of important things in Life is measured by $$ -- turns ordinary semi-bright caring, honorable people into Republicans; their scripture is the spreadsheet and their agenda is regularly entered into a little Appointments book
(and today, into all kinds of transistorized substitutes with alarms and other Nags.)

Just because millions have no idea what the Present Moment [*] is For - does not mean that you must join in their toxic rat race; only lemmings imagine that Crowds are Smart.

New Spaceballs
Skewers the hell out of Star Wars. Will make you wet your pants laughing. In fact, watch "High Anxiety" after that.

Remember, don't take life so seriously. You won't get out of it alive anyway.

And one more thing...
always ask yourself when faced with seemingly insurmountable problems:
Will this be important
1) one week from now?
2) one month from now?
3) one year from now?

Will the world stop turning? Will the sun stop shining?

I know the pain of things being out of proportion. But you have the power to stop it, Brenda. Stand up for yourself. It will be hard at first. But stop letting people run all over you. Take a deep breath. Draw your boundaries and stick to them.

For right now, take two comedies and call us in the morning.

Good luck.

New Two simple things
(Drew, you can cover your eyes, but I promise it isn't bad).

1) We keep answering the phone when it rings... (yes, I know, we should turn it off or something)...

2) I've gotten really really sick. :(

All the stress lately about everything has made me physically sick, so I've been fighting that for at least a couple of days. I called my doctor (whom I see on Monday), and he sent something out to see if we can settle my stomach.

Essentially what's happening is three-fold. First, the anxiety and Panic reactions I've been experiencing are somewhat out of control lately. Second, it's thrown my IBS into a frenzy so that every single time I eat I either have a serious IBS attack or I get sick. Worse yet then, the IBS attacks have been so bad that they scare me back into yet another panic attack... fun, not. And last, because I've been unable to eat much for almost 48 hours has kicked up my hypoglycemia reactions, so on top of everything else, I'm dizzy, flushed, and nauseated. And of course it didn't help that I got a nice migraine last night.

Hopefully I'll feel better soon, and again, thanks for your support. I'm actually pretty scared, but the doctor was very supportive and all. Would appreciate any prayers or thought my way, as this is no fun. I was in bed almost all day today.

Oh, and this thread was really funny to read!!!! Thanks!

Brenda

Oh and Drew? You can uncover your eyes now. ;)

Well, maybe I should let the married folks comment on that.

Every few years, though, I read a few "Dear Abby" type columns. A lot of them seem to be women complaining about their husbands still wanting sex ("Hasn't he had enough by now?") and women complaining about their husbands getting the sex they want elsewhere. The rest sound a lot like our Owlet.

I list these things not to complain, but merely to point out that, between the two of us, the Horizontal Fox Trot is the last thing on our minds.

Ya gotta make time for each other. That is why Critter and I came to the Beep Bash. The first time in years we actually got away from the kids and had fun.
