Post #215,017 by tonytib 7/15/05 2:20:32 PM Reply	It's more complicated than that Based on SFBA experience, running a commuter rail line isn't quick to set up or super cheap to run. For example, schedules have to be coordinated with the freight trains -- which can often require track upgrades (the ACE commuter train required some doubled lines in places) and cause delays (see Amtrak long distance trains, which are often 3 hours late) Yes, they can be a useful addition, but it has to be thought out. I'd bet even ACE, which is pretty full, runs at a loss. Tony
