Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I should also note...
That if we have more than 3 people total, I'll need to get a Big Ole Van rented for the weekend trip...

Please, the sooner we know how many... the better price I can get for the vehicle.

14 Passenger Vans go pretty quick for the 4th of July Weekends.

New You will be 2 miles away from my house
As you journey down 96/275. Honk and yell out the window as you drive by! :-)
New I can do better than that...
Only 2 miles away means that we can stop off and do a pick-up! :) After all, what's 4 miles on a journey of 1000?

New Oh man, dont tempt me.......
I'm itching to go but I cant. I'm on call, I dont have anyone to watch my kids, I'm broke, I have nothing to wear, etc, etc etc..............
New Of all those reasons/excuses...
...the most pre-emptive is "nothing to wear"... ;-)

New So, jb4, you in?
We can talk 'bout Lizzie along the way. :)

New *tempt* *tempt*
I'm itching to go but I cant.
We'll scratch it.
I'm on call
Forward your calls to your cell. Or my cell. Or, better yet, Peter's cell. ;-)
I dont have anyone to watch my kids
Bring 'em along!
I'm broke
I seriously doubt that's ever stopped anyone from joining the caravan before...
I have nothing to wear
Oh man, don't tempt me.........

New I'll answer those calls.

Use P2P for legitimate purposes!
New And make sure to ask them if they want fries with that.
New You're good at tempting ;-)
But.....I dont take my kids to events where they may witness their mother behaving in a decidedly un-motherly fashion. What would you think of your mom if she was drunk and swinging from the chandilier? That's years of therapy I cant pay for.

I sure could use a good scratching, though. Next year. I promise.
New Hey - my Mom did
and I turned out... Point taken.

New Answers...
*grin*
  1. I'm on call
There's always a cell phone - and I can almost guarantee equipment for tele-working

  2. I dont have anyone to watch my kids
    There's always duct-tape

  3. I'm broke
    Bill doesn't charge cover

  4. I have nothing to wear
Bathing suit and a towel! What else do you need?

  5. etc, etc etc..............
Aww - how much etc. do you need in your life anyway?

Oh well - hope to see you next time...

New Now you're making me feel bad
1. But you cant guarantee me staying sober enough to work if I need to.

2. I've tried duct tape. The little buggers can gnaw their way through it.

3. Hotel bill, gas, other unmentionable expenses.

4. I just threw the clothes thing in for drama

5. I dont *need* any of the etc's. I'm stuck with them.

Start priming yourself for next year. I'll be there.

New Boggle?
What is that supposed to mean?
New Jaw dropped, eyes bugging out
as someone reacts with disbelief or amazement.
New I know what it means
I just dont know what he's boggled about!
New My take on it is he's saying BS in a nice way
You've got a series of excuses along with a very good reason not to go.
But for some reason you repeat the excuses.
It's OK, you don't HAVE to go, and you don't even need a list of reasons.
1 is good enough.
You are on call, and you need to be responsible.
Done.
Everything else can be worked around, but that can't, so there is no further discussion required.

On the otherhand, my wife does that.
She piles on a list of BS excuses why something can't be done, since she feels the real reason is not considered important enough.
By the time I "solve" all the BS ones, I come across the real one.
New do you get the real one in the same decade?

questions, help? [link|mailto:pappas@catholic.org|email pappas at catholic.org]
New What do you think this is, a soiree?
What do you think you need to wear? I'll wear shorts and a t-shirt, when I'm not stripped to a bathing suit. You have the ride there and free (ok not very luxurious) accomodations. Accomodating your kids is slightly more tricky, but if you can bring a tent (or get someone else to) then they can come as well.

The only sticker is being on call. We've already offered to make sure that you have a computer with Access available. However there is a legitimate concern that you might not be in good condition if there is a disaster.

Either way it is your call, but most of your excuses are non-issues.

Cheers,
Ben

New Umm.. well, it's in the evening; a party:__Tis! a soir\ufffde :-\ufffd
New Actually it isn't in the evening
It is all day long. Most people are gone by evening, but some of us don't get the memo until 2 AM or so.

Cheers,
Ben

New Re: Actually it isn't in the evening
Actually now its turned into an all weekend affair. Arrivals begin Friday, party all day Saturday, remaining guests dribble out during sunday morning/afternoon.

And this year I have special guests for a couple more days which I'm looking forward to.

Will you eat a burger at your own party?
