also see if all the pulleys are free and not welded together, possile cause of failure

New Yes, there's a diagram.
But I can hardly reach the tensioner with my hand, let alone a wrench, let alone a wrench with enough torque to actually make a difference. Why the hell would they put the tensioner at the back on the bottom? *sigh*

The belt is just off and loose, not broken. No cracks or anything either. All the pulleys seem free.

There was a LARGE tuft of cat fur under the belt. I didn't hear any screeching, but you never know...
