Bugs Bunny makeover
was reading in the WSJ during lunch that Warner Bros. is revamping Looney Toons. It'll be set in the year 2772 and star the gang drawn in an angular style.
They mentioned the characters would take on new names, such as Buzz instead of Bugs, but would retain the same personality. I've come to the conclusion that they need to rethink that name after googling [link|http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Buzz+Bunny%22|"Buzz Bunny"] to find something to link to in this post.

Sounds like a retread
They just did a 'Duck Dodger' revival on the cartoon network, and it didn't go over that well. I'm guessing they feel that it did well enough to justify brining out the entire line.
It will be hard to write now though, many of the funniest Loony Toons depended on relentless slapstick violence that would attract problems now. And the various cross dressing bits that Bugs did would be right out.

And the other directors, like Chuck Jones.

Idiots
its the writing, not the look of the character that makes it what it is.
The problem is we don't have any writers capable of writing that kind of biting satire/slapstick mix these days.
