It isnt the native Californio's that are so annoying, but as you pointed out the transplants are a pain in the bendeco. The overcrowding is annoying and the uniformed services are a assholic nightmare but if one can avoid both its a great place. San Mateo is also very nice(or used to be) "You're just like me streak.
