I was editor of the base newspaper while in the Marines. "Editor" there was more what the civilian world would call, "copy editor, graphics, design, layout, writer management, every-damn-thing-except-final-editorial-control guy". So yeah, I did digital photo processing for a living for a couple years.

But before that, I did real real photography as photo editor for my high school yearbook. Yeah, high school, but I could put a head on a different body in the darkroom with real negatives and real photo paper and you couldn't see the edges. Damn that took some practice. I could've gotten a job with the Weekly World News.
