Do we want to foster an open civilization where information is freely shared and have an open market of ideas? Or would we prefer to have a rigid hierarchy with access provided only to the wealthy? Welcome to the american caste system sans mobility for your living pleasure.
Along with websites and libraries, I recommend we eliminate:
1) Public schools - there are lots of private schools struggling to compete with the free education system.
2) Police force *and* military - its putting the handgun dealers out of work.
3) Highway maintenance - lets allow private companies to bid on toll booth locations and service contracts - this also allows us to eliminate the pesky DMV (not all bad).
4) IRS information services - HR Block and Intuit are really suffering here. Plus, think of the extra revenues available as penalties are arbitrarily assessed on the clueless masses that will be unable to decipher the taxcode.
Commercialism is out of control and is now a detriment to the public welfare.
Free markets enslave.
