This is pretty much the fate of any enthusiast magazine in the sector, going back to the days of the Spectrum, C64, Amiga...

The first handful of years is driven by people who like to get their hands dirty and you get interesting articles that go down to bare metal. You get contributed content from people that are well ahead of the editors and the readers queue a the door to get the next edition.

But then, assuming the platform takes off, the allure of all those extra eyeballs is too much for the accountants in charge. Beginners' fare becomes the sole content and the orginal contributors and audience are no longer welcome. The end result is usually the demise of the magazine.
