Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I've sometims had great fun...
..reading out the astrology page of a newspaper to a believer, who then went "Wow, that's *so* true!" ... except of course to this Taurus I read out the Aquarian horoscope...

I can't remember where I read it, but I believe a teacher once handed out an astrology passage to every student, suitably marked to their star sign. All the students went "ooh... true ... spooky". The teacher then asked the students to pass their piece of paper on to the person next to them - which is when the students found out that every single passage was the same.

Reminds me of a good book I read recently "Did Adam and Eve have Navels?" which I should probably do a review on or something.
On and on and on and on,
and on and on and on goes John.
New Class experiment
The classic is "a personal profile".

The clincher. Even after seeing their neighbors' profiles, a significant fraction of the group usually still believes the description was personally addressed to them.

The epigram I've seen recently, to the effect of: you cannot convince by logic beliefs based in faith. Too right.

New Heh.. toy 'astrology' that -
As Sai Baba said, "Astrology good science. No good Astrologers." [now]

But agreement - the level of BS in these general daily horoscopes is - National Enquirer grade! (The silliest parts are always about 'predictions') {sigh}

That it should be this way - is hardly surprising, either. BS is our most important daily product, no?
