New Problem
The only two places I would consider living in the US are Hawaii (though I haven't visited there yet to 100% confirm wanting to live there but I've heard good things) and NYC if I could somehow magically afford one of those nice homes bordering around the southern half of Central Park.

Any other place I'd have to clear out most of you American folks and bring the Canadian system down with me.

How moist does Houston get anyways? I definitely dislike a dry heat.
lister
New Tuscon, AZ is nice and Arizona is almost another country.

New Flagstaff gets ya 'seasons' too; real snow + the other stuff
New But who'd want to live in Flagstaff?
I did a multi-day job there once. Depressing place. A couple months later I did a similar job in Prescott. Now that was nice!

New Agree.
Flagstaff I can take or leave. Prescott is dead center, God's country (for those who will forgive the christian intonation ;-)

New Ummmmm . . . .
How does "God" imply Christian? Christians have a monopoly on God maybe? Other opinions may differ.

New Just poking
No monopoly.

substitute "religious" if you like.

of course..I could quote foghorn leghorn....

New Hmmm - maybe so. Limited experience.
Friends there; general layout seemed tolerable, but I didn't meet enough locals to evaluate the atmosphere, nor had they been in town long enough to..

For their sake, hope there's another 'Flagstaff' than your sample (!)
(Did note that there are few meeja outlets you'd want to attend, so cable / satellite would be not even optional, unless one is dropping out anyway.)

But hey: there's snow!

New Then you'd really like it here
Humid, very humid.

New I'd take dry heat over humidity any day.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail ... but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"

New Move to the Stumps
Twentynine Palms, CA. It don't get too much drier ... at least nowhere that's inhabited year-round.

New How about Furnace Creek in Death Valley? :)

New I remember a few blast furnace days...
at Edwards AFB, CA (on the edge of the Mohave Desert). I still prefer it to the cold up here in North Dakota, but I prefer a more humid environment.
