Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I love snow.
It's probably due to the lack of it around here, but I do love it and cherish it so...
"Here at Ortillery Command we have at our disposal hundred megawatt laser beams, mach 20 titanium rods and guided thermonuclear bombs. Some people say we think that we're God. We're not God. We just borrowed his 'SMITE' button for our fire control system."
New You. Need. Help. Too.
You need to spend a considerable amount of time living in an area that gets snow and cold that sticks around for a while. Sure it's fun when you're a kid. When you start to get older you have to help out with the shovelling then you inherit those responsibilities. If you're lucky you'll have siblings around your age to help out. Then there's the cold. The freezing cold. And the wind to make it even worse. The kind of nastiness that makes you question your sanity after being in it for two minutes. Gah, and dealing with people that can't drive in it worth a lick!

New Walking the dog
12 degrees F

Winds at 40mph off Lake Erie

Blowing snow hits your eyes from the side making them tear up

Tears blow sideways across your face, then freeze

Corners of the eyes get chapped

Hurts to blink

Oh yeah, this shit is great. Want some, Thane?

New That's why I don't have one.
New I do. Oh wait...
I was in that Shiite you got... this weekend.

I have a Front wheel drive car with Awesome Tires and a Great Driver. An Olds Bravada... all-time 4-wheel drive. nice.

I also have a 10HP(conservative) (rebuilt motor ... zoom zoom only runs on premium, gotta prime the crap out of it to start it though)

28" wide... 32" Tall main scoop. Throw snow 50 feet or right next to you.

I also, have Carhart Jackets, Pants and some Good Insulated work boots. Gloves are $6 cheapies from a Plumbing Work store, they are awesome for how thin they are. Nice Stocking hat with neck cover.

I can stay out and let the dogs run while I snow-blow mine and 4 other neighbors, Clean off all the cars and Snow-rake the roof.

I love Winter. I wish it were here LONGER and about 10 times the snow.

I figure it this way: In Winter, you can stay warm with good clothing. In summer, I am sure, more than one person will agree they really do not want to see me trying to stay cool in a G-String Speedo, IOW, I can't take enough clothes off to stay cool.

Now you know why I like Winter.

New Born and raised in Minnesota
Wouldn't want you wimpy winters. Not Winter until -20\ufffdF. Until then it's just late Fall weather. Have worn winter jacket twice this winter, and that was 'cuz I was washing my regular jacket.

We FINALLY got some snow 10" (on my deck) on Friday. Couple more snowstorms and I might have to fire up the snowblower.

Cold and snow and day over heat and humidity.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail ... but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"

New What.He.Said.Again.
And what really blows is the new FBO at the airport across the street from where I work decided this year that it costs $20.00 to pre-heat an airplane engine for 30 minutes. Twenty freaking dollars to turn on a little electric forced air heater with dryer ducting on it and shove it up under the cowling. Needless to say, I'm not commuting by air until the frickin' temperature stays above 40 all day. Which will be some time in late April or May. We get our first snow (almost always) in October and our last snow in April (when it doesn't snow in May, which it has done three times in the last 10 years).

Only an idiot, or some one who married some one from here, would live up here.

New Re: I love snow.
I don't necessarily love snow, but I sure love the cold as opposed to the heat. The main reason is because my allergies go absolutely nuts in the heat and spring months also, but when it gets cold and stays cold, I feel so much better, and can breathe so much better. And like someone mentions later in this thread, you can always add more clothes.

But lately our winter in St. Louis has been nuts. When that big snow storm came through towards the East, it completely missed us. There was this huge hole in the snow blanket and ta da, we were in it. So weird. Then, it's 40 degrees today when it was 17 two days ago. That is the kind of winter weather I can really do without, because my migraines happen when the weather changes back and forth dramatically, as well as my allergies go nuts.

Give me a straight cold snap any day.

Brenda
