Welcome to IWETHEY!

New My take on SP2
All those apps that are breaking probably need to be broke. (For security sake that is).
New Hmmm
So you don't think it could be what's preventing his ISP from getting to this site?

I'm just looking at all possible options, because John and I have studied the problem for two days and can't find a reason, other than it being ths ISP's fault.

New Not likely
Most of the problems with SP2 that I've seen are related to various undocumented ports being used by software (i.e. not the standard ports). Since connection to this forum is strictly http (port 80), it's not likely that this port will cause problems.

Now it's possible that the ISP is using some behind the scenes trickery to connect between the ISP and the client, but that would probably be some fragile framework. As long as they are simply passing through TCP/IP packets that are on port 80, the SP2 should not cause any problem.

On a different note, we had a problem with our server the other day that was kind of odd. We could access http from home, and 99% of our customers had no problem at all. However, we could not access it from our office or from an office across the street. Turned out that the secondary provider for our ISP was having some routing problems. This meant that there were inaccesible to and from our server. Mind you the problem was very localized.

If there is a problem, it's likely to be something more along those lines. And access the zIWETHEY is probably not the only branch that is disappearing along the torturous path.
New You're right about the access
He can't get to several other sites either, so it does indeed sound like a routing problem. Even Peter thought so.

Hopefully if it is the ISP, they'll figure it out and correct it. Thanks, Chris!

New It is good
that you believe me and don't think I am making it up. We are making progress here.

New I never didn't believe you
I just had to consider ALL possibilities as to the problem.

New Even the ones that could be wrong?

New Obviously so
They call it a possibility because it is possible, not because it is true. If you consider all of the possibilities, most will turn out to be wrong. Hopefully you'll correctly identify the right one, but to get there you have to consider many that later turn out to be wrong.

New Nicht! - delta funczione?
New The possibilities are endless
you can talk about possibilities until you are blue in the face. I don't care about them until you can prove them beyond a reasonable doubt.

My ISP has had problems with routers on other networks accepting their new IPs. Looks like the problem has cleared up. So then, logically, I can rule out all of your half-assed possibilities, and prove that you've always been grasping at straws with half-assed possibilities.

New Only problem with self-correcting problems...
...is that they have a tendency to come back and haunt you (and usually at the most inopportune time. Generally ISPs are not likely to divulge a screw up on their part.
New Could very well be an ISP screw-up
The IP range they said had problems was a different IP range than I actually had. Possibly a cover-up of what really happened. Yet after contacting them, and complaining for a while, the connection mysteriously cleared itself up. Of course I reset my router and DSL modem a dozen times or so plus I had some power blackouts, so maybe that had something to do with it as well?
