My own language? I called it "L" so that it is nearly impossible to mispell. Or did you mean English? That ain't "my" language. I just got stuck with it. I was simply pointing out that just because somebody is bad at X, it does NOT necessarily follow they are also bad at A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,Y and Z.
I could have used Mark Tanderma as an example instead of Einstein, but since nobody here heard of him, the point would be lost. Think about it.

He didn't talk much as a toddler. He was busy figuring out the world. It probably took a long time for him to formulate a question that he couldn't answer for himself.
His language skills were perfect - his papers read like detailed instruction manuals for assembling the world.

Various web sources I looked at shows no consensus. The biggest issue seems to be the age period of when he allegedly had it. Most of the information collected on him was later in his life, when he appeared to had gotten over it. Dyslexia was not well understood at that time of his childhood.
But, I have no info on whether he was a good speller or not. It is a pedantic argument anyhow. Only an idiot would use spelling as a primary IQ test.

Some people get mentally "trapped" in a mispelled world because it starts firing off all their pedanticity neurons, not because it is "hard to figure out".
You have to train your mind to ignore certain things that "set if off".
Good spelling is a nice bonus, but clarity is the most important trait, and following all the rules does not guarenty clarity.

I quoted a book written by his most respected biographer (Pais, "Subtle is the Lord"), who worked with him directly in his later years. Surely you don't think of the "Web" as a first source of information for real questions.
