That sums up my feelings about this well
You know, I didn't have a huge problem with going into Afghanistan; breaking up the al-qaeda network was clearly a security necessity for the US. I did have some problems because I could clearly see the potential negative consequences (see condition of Afghanistan now, xref promises made then by US and others), but I also certainly saw the action as justified and justifiable. However, the amount of flat out lying that I've been seeing has pretty much led me to conclude that the people running the show down there simply can't be trusted.
