New Re: SciFi
They should change their name, as it isn't always SciFi, but horror stuff too and other things not worthy of the name SciFi.

They did remake Dune and then the Children of Dune series, but I'm not watching them. I never got into Dune that much.

Lexx was another show I liked, but they quit on that too soon.

IMO, Lexx is a perfect example of how inept SF's marketing and advertising are. I totally avoided Lexx because of its idiotic commercials. Its commercials give the impression that Lexx is nothing but cheesy, psuedo porn in space. If I wanted that level of crap I'd subcribe to skinimax.

That's not what Lexx is, but you wouldn't know it from the commercials. I think SF's few successful shows, like Farscape, have been successful in spite of SF's inept handling, not because of any intelligence on SF's part. SG1 was a success long before SF touched it and Dune has such a cult following you'd have to totally botch the story and acting for these Dune mini-series to not have at least moderate success. I didn't watch Farscape at first either because the advertising was so poorly done. I started watching about 6 episodes in when my father told me it was actually a desent show.

Black Scorpion, a bad miniseries based on a bad movie. They tried to copy the 1960's Batman series a little bit too closely, but this time they had a woman in tights. They even recycled the actor who played The Riddler into the Black Scorpion show as a new villian.

Battlestar Galactica, I am looking forward to the remake. I heard that they were making a new Battlestar movie, but I never got the details.

GAH, I'd forgotten all about the POS show Black Scorpion. Help me, I'm having flashbacks to the one time I watched it! AAAHHHH!

It'll be amusing to see if SF can make a BG abomination as bad as BG1980. With SF so focused on "expanding its core audience" and not wanting intrecate story lines like farscape, I have no faith in SF's ability to make a real Sci Fi show.

Tremors the series is coming out, yawn, I didn't like the movies that much. Neat idea for a monster, some sort of mutated worm that turns into reptile-like creature.

And what is tremors doing on a supposed SciFi channel? It belongs on the Grade B Cheesy Horror channel (here after known as GBCH). And the sequals don't even qualify for grade C. (Yes, it's imbarrasing to admit, but I've seen both tremors 1 and 2 on TV. No, I'll never do it again.)

Since SF has sunk this low, does that mean they're working on an Ice Planet series? Or since they show so much Fantasy now, maybe Legend, the mini-series? At least Legend had a kick ass looking Devil.

New Tremors
The first movie was good, and I'd say fell solidly into the "cheesy bugs from outer space in Nevada" genre of SF. It was a lot of fun. However, the sequels generally blew major chunks.

That's either BRUCE Sterling, or S.M. St_I_rling; judging from the content, more probably the latter.

Any movie with Tim Curry as The Lord of Darkness can't be all bad.
