I grant that it has been nearly thirty years since I saw the sketch, but the phrasing I cited is the one that lodged, or appeared to lodge, in memory. Of course, the Pythons occasionally varied their bits in recordings, live performances, etc--for our present purposes I think we must needs regard the original television series as canonical--but now I'm mildly curious to know which of us is correct here. cordially, "Die Welt ist alles, was der Fall ist."

Could it be that, in contemplating the question, I had cast my mind so thoroughly back to 1974 that online avenues of inquiry did not present themselves as considerations?
