A friend of mine is on a gluten-free, casein-free diet. Her son is autistic and she put him on the diet with good results. Then she tried to get pregnant again and miscarried 3x. Turns out she has some autoimmune disorder that also responds to this kind of diet. Makes one wonder if there is some kind of link. Her son's autism changed her career path and now she is the director of a local autism treatment center.
I'm rambling. Anyhoo, the point is, she's not much fun to take to dinner because of her dietary restrictions, but she can knock a few glasses of wine back with the rest of us gals. So dont despair, Amy!
