Would you want your father to attend?
Not that I claim to be, of course, but I'm old enough. Heck, I'm old enough to be Box's father. But, that would have been before I was "active".
Anyway, my thought is that it would be a little bit awkward. Besides, if you tossed me in the pool, I would have to kill you. :)

Um yeah
But we'd have to dig him up, and that could get kinda messy.
On the other hand, you're still above ground, so if you are able to show up (this or any other one) I'd be very happy to see you.

Honestly, old people are allowed:-)
We even enjoy their company...and most do NOT get tossed in the pool.

The trick to not getting tossed in the pool
Is to wear a skirt. You might want to tuck that away for future reference.

Don't worry.
I was just figuring that if skirts were protective, then kilts might be as well (since their topology is similar). That is all.
