Microsoft has already stated XP will be available for between 12 and 24 months depending on demand. Other companies may be expected to follow Texas Instruments example - they have banned Vista even on connected home computers until some time in 2008. [link\|http://www.aaxnet.com\|AAx]

My Dad is interested in upgrading from his Pentium 200 running Windows 95, but isn't sure he wants to spend ~AU$2000. I thought that he had perhaps a few months if he wants to stay Windows or he'd have no choice but Vista. And I can't support a Vista desktop; heck I can barely support an XP desktop! We decided to try him on Ubuntu instead using my sisters old PC (AMD Duron 950Mhz I think). Wade. "Don't give up!"
