You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."
So...I grew up in central NJ. Near Princeton. Halfway between NYC and Philly. I moved to Texas and lived in Austin for 4 years. Now I'm in Chicago for the last 8 years. So...Whatever. It's still soda, dammit.
