Welcome to IWETHEY!

New References are
now being demanded by recruiters, employers and many consulting firms.

Period.

Things have seriously changed in the Jub hunt arena. Being forthcoming before they ask is being looked upon as a good thing. Lets the "recruiters" do the job faster. You'll garner much goodwill from the "sponsors" if you have them there.

Applications for employment are also starting to be required before ANY consideration for perm jobs.

New I keep my references separate
Piece of paper by itself, not part of the resume. If requested, I'll provide them... but I like to be a bit choosier about who I supply them to.
New Again, you cause another task for recruiters.
People helping you find a job.

That is not good.

Any opinions expressed by me are mine alone, posted from my home computer, on my own time as a free american and do not reflect the opinions of any person or company that I have had professional relations with in the past 50 years. meep

New They are doing better than anything else.
I have gotten nothing significant from any other source.

"Internet Research Assistant" == Pay the person for the privilege to spam you with nothing but nonsense info.

I get bites from "Insurance Managers" saying my CV is a PERFECT fit for selling Life.

I get pyramid marketing. Amway offers, Military service jobs.

All from Monster, Dice, Hotjobs, Craig's list and other things like this. All of these things have been invaded by people working people that are in bad shape to begin with. Hoping to grab existing CASH from them.

This whole marketing yourself thing on the ENTARWEB is a bad thing.

New Agree they are required
but they are not getting you in the door, which is the purpose of the resume.

References by request is still an acceptable practice.

Also, last 2 bullets in your experience at your last gig, you need to remove the "I"s and first person references to align them with the first 2 bullets. These things are on your resume, there's no need to say "I did this".
