I'm in my living room getting drunk with Shizzy.
She would like to say a few words-
Thane you rock, keep dancing and making us happy. We love a man who dances and has a rocking good time. (This is Laura talking now- Rita is a dancer and she knows her stuff) Barry, I will try to control the exclamations points. I am an ex cheerlearder and have a hard time doing without. P.S. picture is forth coming. Just a note: Laura rocks and we are working on our next cheer for the night. (This is Laura talking again. We are doing splits together at the moment. (She is actually on the phone with my ex husband as we speak) Do you know bionerd can play a mean guitar? Well, stand back because she can. I have jazz hands right now. Yes, thats right, jazz hands. One red hot mama!!!! Oops there I go. Sorry, Barry. It's the wine. We are sending the kids to bed soon. More wine for us. Party on, Bio, Yes, party on, Shiz..............

FISHING! Who gives a flying fuck! Apparently my ex. She is prattling on about blue gills and Lake Huron and something or other over 14 inches. They are very engrossed in their discussion. Wine continues to pour out of my nose.

Now Shizzy is telling my ex
that fishing is cool. And she is asking him if he is a little bit country or a little bit rock and roll. And he replies heavy metal! And she says that's not right. Why would you be heavy metal. And he starts talking about Nazareth, and she starts talking about doobies, and he starts talking about Iron Maiden. Then she brings up Rush. And I say Oh, I love Rush, and then she says her boyfriend passed out at a Rush concert and those were the days. Rush is good. Asolutely. Then she asks him if U2 reminds him of Rush and he says no, not at all. And she says OH, okay. Then he says I love Rush. And she say Um huh..... And then she asks him about Goo Goo Dolls...cool. songs and videos and he says he is too old and she says: Yes, you are old. And then he says something about AFI A Fire Inside, which is apparently a band. And then they talk about Lincoln Park. And Rita said they really jam.. Now he is telling her about Tool and A Perfect Circle. Shizzy thinks she has heard of them. Sober. Now she is waving her wine glass around and asking my ex husband if he can see her right now. And he says no. And she says I dont know, maybe you have technology. And he says he doesnt have his computer turned on. Now she tells him Cheap Trick is good and they totally rock. I love them. My ex thinks they are good. so does Rita. They are not the best. She loves Journey and Steve Perry. Now I love Styx and have met Tommy Shaw and he sends me birthday and Chistmas cards. Now they are talking about Yes. Bleck. Seriously.

Bummer.
I mean, it's not worth fighting with while you're having a good time. I'll try making clearer instructions when I get some time. Until then, maybe someone can tell what's wrong with what I sent: I'm using [link|http://gaim.sourceforge.net/|Gaim] (a beta version available [link|http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=235&package_id=253&release_id=440695|here]). Some notational conventions: "->" means click on the Menu word on the left side of the arrow, then click on the word that appears on the menu that's listed on the right side of the arrow. The settings below are for [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=267892|Peter's Jabber server]. You need to tell Gaim the machine you want to connect to, and some other settings. In the version of Gaim I have (a beta version), you do the following:
Accounts -> Add/Edit
Basic tab: Protocol: Jabber Screen name: nameofmychoice (whatever you like, but it must be unique to Jabber on the server) Server: guildenstern.dyndns.org Resource: IWeThey (whatever you like to help you remember which Jabber account you're setting up) Password: apassword (whatever you like - it's to keep someone else from logging in as your screen name) Alias: MyAlias (whatever you like. This lets you associate a "real" name with a screen name, if you like. It's what you (but nobody else) sees with that screen name's text.) Remember Password: (Checked)
Advanced tab: Leave everything as is, but add Require TLS: Checked Connect server: guildenstern.dyndns.org
Hit the "Register" button
You should get a popup saying: Register New Jabber Account Username: nameofmychoice (already filled in) Password: apassword (whatever you entered above) Name: MyAlias (whatever you entered as the Alias above). e-mail: me@myemailserver.com (whatever e-mail account you want to use)
Hit the "Register" button. You should get a popup that the Registration was successful.
In the Buddy List window: Buddies -> Add a Chat
Account: nameofmychoice@guildenstern.dyndns.org (already filled in) Room: ziwt Server: conference.guildenstern.dyndns.org Handle: nameofmychoice (already filled in) Password: apassword (what you chose above) Alias: MyAlias (whatever you entered above) Group: Buddies
Hit the "Add" button. You should see a light bulb with "MyAlias". Double click on it.
You'll see another window popup labeled "MyAlias" with a Topic, and various time stamps and a list of handles who "entered the room". When someone is in a room, they're logged in and may be available to chat. Hope this helps, or at least inspires someone to straighten out the instructions enough to get you in the chat room. Good luck! Have fun! :-) Cheers, Scott.

Re: Your keyboard is going to get all greasy
we've got popcorn everywhere. Have you ever noticed that when youre not watching popcorn seems to jump out of everywhere. Even when youre at the movies? Pay attention sometime. It really does. You try to be neat, but, it never stays that way.
And have you ever had a popcorn fight? It is so much fun. Try it sometime. It is so fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not rocket science, just fun. Don't over think it.

Actually I have
Except it wasn't popped yet. My brother and I stole several ears of feed corn from a field, brought it home, and stripped all the kernels off into buckets. We got two 1-gallon buckets about half full, so yeah, we probably took more than "several".
We took the buckets and a couple of spoons down in the basement, hid behind furniture on opposite sides of the room, and started shooting corn at each other. Riccochet off the cieling, the walls, direct shots when the other would come up to aim ... It lasted most of an hour before our mother came to see what the commotion was all about. So of course she made us stop and clean up. With about a cup left in the bottom of my bucket and my brother nearly empty, too. Couldn't give us five freaking more minutes could she ... oh no.

Re: Your keyboard is going to get all greasy
Well, I guess it is up to me to fill in the blanks for awhile. I am currently watching the kids. It is late and they are busy as bees. I will eat some more popcorn and watch some more tv. It will be good. The kids are looking for more snacks. They will be eating a early midnight snack.

The wrath of Dionysius
Ah, for the days when a body could shake off a hangover in half an hour (not my first, though—that one, thirty-three years ago stands nonpareil yet). This trick, as you have discovered to your cost, is difficult to replicate much past twenty-five. Even less welcome than the physical symptoms, I find, is the sense of moral worthlessness (dear God, did I really say—and/or type, I suppose—that?) that is apt to accompany them.
This being said, however, it does sound as if you enjoyed yourself, and if your memory of the events is spotty you can always revisit this thread.
cordially,

I would, but ...
While I was picking up lawn and leaf bags yesterday in preparation for tedious yard work, I decided to grab a bottle to make myself some adult beverages when I was done. And the damn convenience store only had "diluted" spirits. I don't remember ever seeing them before. Nothing about 40 proof. WTF?!
